I had come to write an article on his school and attend a session of classes and I have to admit I had not really given the issue all that much thought. I mean, after all, how hard can it be?Well, I'll tell you what - it ain't easy! But if you are aged 7 to 70 and in relatively decent shape, Lou and his crew will teach you how to surf. They claim a success rate of 95% and I believe them, having seen as much with my own eyes. Lou pioneered East Coast surf schools some years ago, works out of a beautiful...

The Wide Range of Maui Wedding Ceremonies
Whatever your religious affiliation, or whatever you'd like to experience, there is a Maui wedding ceremony that will suit you. A lot of people prefer the traditional Hawaiian wedding ceremony and there is an interesting tale to tell about that.
Since the early Hawaiians had no written language, a traditional Hawaiian wedding is nothing more than speculation. Some of the traditions have been handed down, from generation to generation, in stories and songs from the past. But other features are simply guesswork.
It is believed that the wedding ceremony was reserved for royalty but is now available for anyone who cares to use it. On Maui there are houses of worship for almost every religion on earth, churches, temples, etc. that can be adapted by lesser-known sects for an appropriate service. In addition, by bringing in your own religious person to perform the ceremony, you can be assured that your wedding vows will conform to whatever specifics your religion requires.

Ultralight Backpacking - Testing Skills
On Lake Michigan, at the end of the Stonington Peninsula, there's a stretch of empty beach. Part of the Hiawatha National Forest, it's framed on either side by private property, with no easy access. To walk on the beach, however, is legal. Past the last cabin, the public land starts, and goes for six or seven miles. This is where I would test my ultralight backpacking skills and gear.I hiked a few miles the first day and explored the woods, where I ate wild blueberries for an hour.
Then I set up camp behind a small ridge on the beach. I collected dry grass along the edge of the forest, which made a nice mattress. I pitched my backpacking tarp fairly high, so the breeze would keep out the mosquitos. When camp was set, I went for a swim. This area has many crayfish, which look and taste just like miniature lobsters. After swimming I caught a dozen under the rocks in shallow water, and carried them back to camp in a whipped-cream container I found.
You never know what will...

Heirloom Jewelry
Heirloom jewelry can be a very important part of estate planning. When someone passes away she looks to leave not just an inheritance, but a piece of themselves that can be passed on for generations to come. This is where the ideal piece of jewelry comes into play.
Most often, the piece of jewelry handed down through families is a wedding ring. An heirloom wedding ring can pass along the story of a grandparent's love that survived the ages. It can even be a way to incorporate...
